Plane being recovered from Hudson River

Search continues for missing engines

NEW YORK (AP) - Divers and sonar operators will spend another
day scouring the Hudson River for two missing engines from a US
Airways jetliner.
The engines are presumed to have been carried somewhere cold,
dark and murky by the river's strong tides. Exactly where, though,
is a mystery. Officials will be searching the sediment-obscured
river bottom along a 4 1/2 mile stretch from the point where the
plane first hit the water Thursday to the southern tip of
Manhattan.
A pair of cranes will help pull the rest of the damaged plane
from the river today, allowing investigators to retrieve flight and
data recorders.
Investigators will also interview the pilot, who safely guided
Flight 1549 down onto the river Thursday after it collided with
birds. All 155 people onboard survived the splashdown.
