Now Hiring: Qualified Firefighters

Officials with the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department and the Mobile County Personnel Board have announced an open competitive examination for Firefighter beginning today, Monday, January 12.

Interested persons who are already certified as a Firefighter in the State of Alabama or non-certified applicants who have passed the Candidates Physical Ability Test (CPAT) can pick-up and fill out applications at the Mobile County Personnel Board, located at 1809 Government Street Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. or go on line at www.personnelboard.org and fax the application to (251) 445-2219. Applicants will receive a written examination study booklet upon returning the completed application.

Certified applicants must provide proof of certification as an Alabama certified Firefighter. Non-certified applicants must exhibit proof of passing the CPAT. Applicants must have graduated from a standard senior high school or GED; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements. Applicant must also possess a valid driver’s license from state of residence.

Salary range is $2,446-$3,911 monthly or $29,361-$46,938 annually plus benefits.
