A Mobile man is accused of trying to kill the man who is now dating the mother of his child.
Police say John Powell went to his ex-girlfriend's trailer park on Bellingrath Road in Theodore to pick up the child. When he forced his way in, Powell was confronted by his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend. A struggle ensued, during which police say Powell pulled out a lock blade knife and stabbed the boyfriend seven times.
The boyfriend was taken by South Flight to USA Medical Center. He's listed in fair condition.
Powell is charged with attempted murder and burglary.
