Senators Bet On BCS National Championship Game

If Florida wins, Okalahoma Sen. Tom Coburn has to sing Elton John's "Rocket Man." If Oklahoma wins, Florida Sen. Bill Nelson has to belt out "Oklahoma!"from the Broadway musical.

MIAMI (AP) - Florida Sen. Bill Nelson is waiting to hear his
Oklahoma colleague croon Elton John's "Rocket Man" after the BCS
championship game.
That's if the Gators win, of course. If the Sooners prevail,
Sen. Tom Coburn can enjoy watching Nelson belt out "Oklahoma!"
from the eponymous Broadway musical.
The friendly wager rides on the outcome of Thursday's
much-anticipated football game between the two powerhouses. The
losing senator will have to serenade residents from the winning
state at the next constituent coffee, a weekly morning meeting that
politicians hold for people from their home states.
No. 1 Florida and No. 2 Oklahoma both come into the game with
12-1 records.
