The Pascagoula Police Department is seeing an increase in the number of automobile burglaries. But police say the victims are making themselves a target.

Burglars are targeting unlocked vehicles with electronics that can be seen through the windows. They're taking things like GPS navigation systems, I-pods, laptops, cameras and purses.

Police are asking you to make sure you always lock your doors and remove any valuables that are in plain sight. They also say you should record the make, model, and serial numbers of any valuables that you do keep in your car.
