PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - The Singing River Hospital System is
changing its name to Singing River Health System.
Chris Anderson, the system's chief executive officer, says the
new name better represents a growing system that includes a
Regional Cancer Center and heart, neuroscience and other programs.
The system has 571 licensed beds in two hospitals - Singing
River Hospital in Pascagoula and Ocean Springs Hospital. It has
five community medical clinics and affiliated programs, including
Hospice of Light.
The hospital system had its beginning as Jackson County Hospital
in 1931.
