It's still under construction but a Southwest Alabama company is already showing some economic promise.
Alabama State Governor Bob Riley toured ThyssenKrupp's new Pinto Terminal this morning.
The terminal was part of an 811 millon dollar incentives package that Alabama offered TK AG to build a new mill here.
Despite concerns of the economy taking a toll on the company's stainless steel production, Riley says the company's carbon has not been affected.
The terminal will solve a logistical problem of getting steel slabs to the steel plant in Calvert.
"We want to make sure that we are on course, that we are on time and everything we talked about this morning we're not only on time, if anything we are probably a little ahead of time,"Said Governor Riley.
The Pinto Island Terminal is scheduled to be completed in October. Production at the steel mill is set for spring of 2010.
