LUCEDALE, Miss. (AP) - Three people, including an inmate
returning from a work detail, have been killed in a two-vehicle
crash in George County.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol says the accident occurred
Tuesday on Mississippi Highway 57.
Highway Patrol spokesman Cpl. Johnny Poulos says 75-year-old
Robert R. Myrick of Lucedale, the driver of the county work truck,
and an inmate were killed in the crash. Two other inmates were
injured and were hospitalized South Alabama Medical Center.
The dead inmate has not been identified.
Poulos says Myrick's truck collided with a Hummer sport utility
vehicle. Poulos says the driver of the Hummer, 29-year-old Terrance
Moore of Biloxi, died at the scene.
Poulos says the inmates were trusties serving sentences at the
George County Satellite Facility in Lucedale.
