MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Coretta Scott King has been selected for
the Alabama Women's Hall of Fame in her first year of eligibility.
King will be recognized with a bronze plaque at an installation
ceremony on March 5 at Judson College in Marion, which is near
where she was born. Her induction comes a year after another key
figure in the civil rights movement, Rosa Parks, was inducted.
Alabama women can be nominated for the hall of fame once at
least two years have passed since their death.
King died in January 2006, and the hall of fame's board selected
her in the first year she was eligible to be nominated.
