A fiery crash killed two people including a Pensacola teenager.

The crash happened just after 7 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Highway 113 and Highway 31. Investigators believe the driver, Tremayne Brown, 24, never hit his brakes when he ran through the intersection and crashed into a building.

Chief Mike Lambert of the Escambia County Sheriff's Office says it was foggy Sunday morning. "They were probably unfamiliar with that road and it coming to an abrupt stop here," said Lambert.

Brown and four teenage passengers were traveling from Montgomery home to Pensacola.

Investigators believe the car was moving 65 miles per hour when it crashed, but while all five people survived the impact, only three survived the fire that followed.

Lambert says the impact pushed the engine through the dashboard, pinning Brown and Rashon Caldwell, 18, in their seats when the car burst into flames. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Three teenagers in the back seat, Demontray Woodward, 17, Maurice Williams, 18, and Richard Beverly, 18, were rescued by Donna Fillmore, an off-duty dispatcher who witnessed the crash and Charles "Heath" Wiggins, a Flomaton Police Officer who arrived a short time later.

Woodward and Williams were transported to a hospital in Jay, Florida. Beverly was taken by ambulance to Atmore, then airlifted to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.
