MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - An attorney for Alabama death row inmate
Danny Joe Bradley has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to block his
lethal injection set for Thursday for the 1983 rape and murder of
his 12-year-old stepdaughter.
The request for a stay of execution was filed Sunday.
The Atlanta-based 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Tuesday
refused to block the execution.
State prosecutors say the 49-year-old Bradley, formerly of
Piedmont, has exhausted his state and federal appeals.
His conviction was in the Jan. 24, 1983, killing of his
stepdaughter, Rhonda Hardin.
