Teens Charged With Arson

The Saraland Police Department received a telephone call just after 2am Friday morning from someone who said an apartment was being broekn into at 115 Harris Street. Officers responded to the address and noticed a broken window. At this time, officers heard an alarm sounding. Officers then saw 3 people leaving the apartment with items in their hands. Officers then noticed a fire coming from the apartment. The Saraland Fire Department responded to extinguish the fire. Police arrested 19 year old Brandon Michael Howell of Saraland, 18 year old Kaitlyn Breanna Sutherlin of Creola and a 15 year old..
They were charged with Burglary 3rd and Arson 1st Degree. The juvenile was released to a parent pending further investigation. The apartment was not occupied at the time of the Burglary.
