Renea Broussard operates Share Stuff, a faith-based thrift store on Canal Road in Orange Beach. The thrift shop is operated by Christian Life Church and gives struggling families a financial break and a chance to survive financially during the economic recession.
"I have seen an increase and I expect there will be a lot more people coming in," says Broussard.
Tammy West is a customer.
"It's awesome to have something like this in the area," says West. "Especially when so many people are going through such trying times with the economy, it's great to be able to find a bargain. My husband had a thriving business of 30 years in construction and with the mortgage meltdown, it just went down, they turned the switch off overnight, we went through foreclosure, lost our home."
Share Stuff isn't just a thrift store, it will also be used as a distribution site for a local hurricane disaster response team. The store is open six days a week and is closed on Sundays.
