Legislature on Wednesday, a committee meeting day:
COMMITTEES
-House and Senate postponed committee meetings so members could
attend the funeral for former Gov. Guy Hunt.
AGENDA
-House Education Appropriations Committee meets at 9 a.m.
Thursday in room 617 at the Alabama Statehouse to consider a bill
to remove the state sales tax on food purchases.
-House Judiciary Committee meets at 9 a.m. Thursday in room 123
to discuss a bill to make it a crime to elude a law enforcement
officer.
-House Constitution and Elections Committee meets at 9 a.m.
Thursday in room 603 to consider bill to ban the practice of
transferring campaign contributions from one political action
committee to another.
-House Government Operations Committee meets at 9 a.m. Thursday
in room 622 to discuss proposed legislation to establish a
commission that would manage the Alabama Department of
Transportation.
-House Public Safety Committee meets at 9 a.m. Thursday in room
602 on consider banning text messaging while driving.
-The Legislature's Contract Review Committee meets at 9 a.m.
Thursday in the Joint Briefing Room.
-House Commerce Committee meets at 10 a.m. Thursday in room 621.
-House Government Appropriations Committee meets at 11 a.m.
Thursday in room 617 to consider bill to require DNA testing of all
persons arrested for felony offenses.
-House Committee on Boards and Commissions meets at 11 a.m.
Thursday in room 601.
-Senate Finance and Taxation-General Fund Committee meets at
noon in room 727.
-Senate Fiscal Responsibility and Accountability Comittee meets
at 1 p.m. in room 609 to consider creating an energy grant program.
-House meets at 1:30 p.m. Thursday and Senate at 2 p.m.
