New E-Mail Scam In Mobile Area

There's a new e-mail scam focusing on the economic stimulus plan.
The e-mail supposedly comes from the Internal Revenue Service, but the Better Business Bureau of Mobile said it really doesn't come from the agency.
The note says the recipient is eligible for a stimulus payment, even though Congress hasn't approved a new plan yet.
The e-mail wants you to submit the payment on-line form that comes with the notice.
The Better Business Bureau says don't do it.
Tina Waller with the Better Business Bureau of Mobile said, "I think you're supposed to download forms, but, luckily, no one does that. You can also get a virus by doing that. But they're wanting you to direct deposit your stimulus check into your account. So, a lot of what they're after is your bank account information. And, of course, if you give them the bank account information, they can get your money."
Waller said the IRS won't e-mail information to you.
She said the agency will always notify you of things by regular mail.
So, if you get an e-mail supposedly from the IRS, the bureau says just delete it.
