LONG BEACH, Miss. (AP) - A $100 million bond is set for a former
Alabama police officer on a third count of child molestation.
Edward Scott Yancey was charged Monday. He was already accused
of molesting two 10-year-old boys he coached as a volunteer with
the Long Beach Recreation League.
Long Beach Police Department Assistant Chief Don Bass says the
latest charge was filed after a juvenile told police he was
molested during the summer of 2008 at Yancey's residence.
The 37-year-old Yancey was a police officer in Gulf Shores,
Ala., before he was convicted in 1998 on a federal child
pornography charge. He was sentenced to three years' probation.
Yancey will also be tried April 6 in federal court on a firearms
charge.
