WASHINGTON (AP) - The House Judiciary Committee has rescheduled
a deposition for former White House adviser Karl Rove involving the
prosecution of former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman.
Rove had been slated to appear Monday but is now scheduled for
Feb. 23.
Committee Chairman John Conyers, a Michigan Democrat, issued
Rove another subpoena last week ordering him to testify about any
role he played in politically motivated firings of U.S. attorneys,
as well as the prosecution of Siegelman, a Democrat.
Rove so far has refused to appear before the committee. It is
unclear if he will respond to the latest subpoena as a federal
appeals court considers whether former White House aides can be
compelled to testify about matters on which they advised the
president.
