Former Baldwin County District Attorney David Whetstone was in a small Summerdale courtroom Monday afternoon to answer to his DUI charge he received back in December.
Whetstone pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor charge. This was his first criminal offense. Whetstone was sentenced to 12 months probation and 40 hours of community service. He will also have his driver's license suspended for 90 days. Whetstone will also pay a $500 fine for improperly changing lanes the night he was arrested.
Whetstone's blood alcohol level registered .13. The legal limit in Alabama is .08.
Whetstone apologized for his actions.
