Mobile firefighters are investigating the cause of a deadly fire.

A neighbor called 911 around 6:00 a.m. to report a house fire in the 1600 block of Johnston Street. The caller said someone may be trapped inside. When Mobile Fire-Rescue arrived, there was heavy fire and smoke pouring out of the rear of the house. The roof had collapsed.

The victim is a 46 year old male. The victims name is Reggie Mack according to family. Firefighters found his body in the bathroom. They believe he was trying to escape.

An autopsy is being performed on the victim's body.
