Teacher Was Drunk When He Drove Into Mobile Bay

The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office says a Grand Bay Middle School teacher was drunk when he drove his SUV into Mobile Bay.

34-year-old Louie Carvin Jr. drowned in the October 10th accident at Fort Morgan. His blood-alcohol content was .192, more than twice the legal limit. Major Anthony Lowery says Carvin stopped to buy alcohol at least the twice just hours before his death.

Lowery says Carvin drove through an open gate to the ferry dock. There were no signs he tried to stop.

Carvin taught Language Arts at Grand Bay Middle School.
