A Pensacola woman will spend Christmas behind bars after leading police on a chase through two states.
The Escambia County Sheriff's Office says 35-year-old Jennifer McCullough robbed a consignment shop and filled up with gas, but drove off without paying for it. When deputies spotted her car around 9:30 Wednesday night, they say she hit the gas.
The chase ended about 30 minutes later on I-10 in Loxley, Alabama. Police put down spike strips to deflate McCullough's tires. She came to a stop about 6 miles down the road. But she wasn't ready to give up. Loxley police say McCullough got out of her car and tried to run. Officers tased McCullough and took her into custody.
Several drivers caught in the middle of all the action also ended up with flat tires. The string on the spike strip came off, so police couldn't get it out of the path of oncoming traffic in time. Two Baldwin County Sheriff's Office cars were also damaged during the chase.
McCullough is facing numerous charges, including three counts of reckless endangerment, eluding police, which is a felony in Alabama, resisting arrest, DUI, and possession of marijuana.
McCullough was arrested last month in Escambia County, Florida for hit & run. She was released on $2,000 bond.
