New developments in an investigation by the Mobile County Sheriff's Office involving Steve Nodine.
Nodine is under investigation after the sheriff's office said what is believed to be marijuana was found inside his county-issued vehicle.
Nodine issued a written statement, but he also talked to News Five about the case.
The commissioner said when Sheriff Sam Cochran told him about the investigation, he immediately volunteered to give a blood and urine sample, but the sheriffs office declined to take him up on the offer.
A spokesperson for the sheriff's office said it is standard procedure for the sheriff's office not to take such tests at that point in an investigation.
Nodine also said he's hired attorney Domingo Soto to represent him in this case.
