At Super Foods in East Brewton, they're throwing out soggy stuff by the truckload.
That's where we found city worker, James Evans. "We have to. The law says you have to. If water touches it, its got to go."
The store flooded more than 30 inches and on the long list of damaged places from this week's flood.
That's why on Friday, Governor Bob Riley stopped by. "I try to keep up with what's going on but there's nothing like coming to see it."
The estimated damage in Escambia County alone is 5.8 million.
The Small Business Administration (SBA) will be in town on Monday to help with loans for rebuilding. Six different damage assessment crews will also be there to start the process of getting federal and state money to those in need.
Riley reminds everyone to make sure the teams see it all. "There will come a time when they're doing these damage assessments that they're gonna say we've seen enough. Well, take em to the next house and the next house."
Most people missed Governor Riley on his quick visit but the news he delivered is what they wanted to hear. Evans was glad to hear more visitors are coming next week. I hope so. We need it."
