New Welcome Center In Bayou La Batre

A building heavily damaged by Hurricane Katrina is finally reopened.

An old building in Bayou La Batre is getting a new lease on life. Officials cut the ribbon on a new welcome center today, 12/12/09. It will serve as home to both the chamber of commerce and Bayou La Batre-Coden Historical Foundation. The building used to be the old Tapia library building until 2005.
