Many of you have been bringing the goods for our great toy drive!
You've also been bringing the cash!
But because this is a a toy drive we had a great idea about what to do with the dough!
With the help of "Toys R Us" -- we asked customers to help us purchase toys for our drive with your donations.
For some, the task was easy.
Salida Noyd says,
"Makes me feel great! because you know I would want to be happy too. I would like to see kids happy and stuff you know get toys and stuff. There's nothing like Christmas when you get ready to open your presents."
Everyone we asked was willing to give us a hand, and slowly but surely, our shopping cart began to fill up with gifts for our kids. Bert Snow says, "You know people right now, they don't really have much to give and you know it's just a blessing to give."
This whole shopping experience brought out the holiday spirit in almost everyone. When they found out they were spending money that was donated to our toy drive, they reached into their own wallets to buy a toy to make child happy on Christmas day.
Tony Davis was given 20 dollars to purchase some toys, but then he bought more with his own money. "There's a lot of kids, we work construction, travel we see a lot of poverty and a lot of kids won't get a lot for christmas or get nothing so it's good to help to contribute do what we can to help other people", says Davis.
Candice Wilson even surprised us at the checkout by adding a toy of her own to our basket.
Even though The Great Toy Drive is about giving to others, we discovered that people's kindness is something money can't buy.
