A strong weather system moved across Baldwin County early Wednesday dumping heavy rain and pushing strong winds through the area. In Foley, torrential rains made driving conditions dangerous. A few roads flooded and ditches were filled with storm water. At one point, parts of the city lost power when the storm rolled through.
In Gulf Shores, coastal flooding and beach erosion were the biggest problems. Several roads had standing water and the storm surge swallowed many beaches. Thankfully, no property damage or injuries were reported.
By noon, the severe weather pushed off to the east and the sun came out. But Mother Nature isn't done yet. A blast of cold, arctic air will move in on Thursday.
