- Mobile police have identified the murder suspect as 34-year-old Demetrius Thomas.
- Police say Thomas shot Cindy Longmire around 9:30 Wednesday morning at a group home for mentally challenged people on Quail Run Drive East in Theodore.
- Police say Longmire, who was 32, was shot at least once in the head
- Shortly after the shooting, police took the couple's four kids out of school as a precaution.
- Thomas was arrested just before 11:30 at the Phoenix Park Apartment off Dauphin Island parkway.
12:32 p.m.
- Owner of the home says police have told her the suspect is in custody.
- Victim is Cynthia Longmire. District Attorney John Tyson, Jr. says she worked at the group home.
- She has 4 kids. Two attend Phillips Preparatory and the other two attend Spencer Elementary School.
- According to the owner of the home, Longmire's common law husband shot her once through the kitchen window, then climbed through the window and shot her four more times. The owner also says Longmire had been running from her husband and living in a safe place.
- Both Phillips Preparatory and Spencer Elementary were put on lockdown for about 50 minutes as a precaution.

Mobile Police and District Attorney John Tyson, Jr. are on the scene of a homicide in Theodore. Police say a woman was shot inside an adult group home on Quail Run Drive South. News 5 will have a live report at noon.
