Principal Punched While Trying To Break Up Fight

Police say Mae Eanes Middle School principal Merrier Jackson was breaking up a fight between one of her students and two brothers when she was hit.

A Mobile teenager is accused of hitting a middle school principal.

Police say two brothers who attend Williamson High School showed up at Mae Eanes Middle School around 7:00 a.m. to settle a dispute with a 15-year-old Mae Eanes student. Principal Merrier Jackson was punched when she tried to break up the fight.

The 16-year-old who punched Jackson is charged with assault 3rd, harassment and criminal trespassing. His 17-year-old brother is charged with assault and criminal trespassing.

A spokesman for Mobile County Schools says the two brothers will also be suspended.
