Double Shooting In Housing Community

UPDATE: Mobile Police have arrested a 16-year old after they say he shot himself then another teen.

Mobile Police say they have arrested 16-year old James Grimes after they say he shot himself in the hand then shot another teen in the leg. Police say it happened around 8:15 Saturday night in the RV Taylor Housing Community.

According to MPD, Grimes got into an altercation with another 17-year old juvenile when he pulled out a gun and accidentally shot himself in the hand. He then shot the other teen in the leg. Both teens were taken to USA Medical Center.

Mobile Police say Grimes is being charged as an adult. He is currently booked into Mobile Metro Jail charged with assault.

Police are investigating a shooting that sent at least two people to the hospital. It happened just after 8 o'clock Saturday night on Arlington Street and Olive Court. Police tell News 5 the victims were taken to USA Medical Center with gunshot wounds to the hand and leg. No names have been released.
