MILWAUKEE (AP) - A new study finds that kids with a broken arm do better on a simple painkiller than on a more powerful prescription.

The study tested ibuprofen, sold as Advil, Motrin and other brands, against Tylenol No. 3, a combo prescription of acetaminophen and codeine.

Researchers at the Medical College of Wisconsin found that the children on ibuprofen did better. Study leader Dr. Amy Drendel says children who took the ibuprofen were more likely to play, ate better and had few adverse effects.

The results are in the Tuesday online edition of the Annals of Emergency Medicine.
