Newberry Lane looks like any other dirt road in Baldwin County, but the people that live here say the road is a nightmare.

"We used to get ruts like this," says Vickey Morgan. "I can't even drive there. I had to stay over here with them because the road was washed out."

"It's dangerous," says Juanita Bayer. "Especially when it's muddy and when it rains and this one over here it's beveled and everything and you slide off it."

Bayer and Morgan say for more than a decade, they've begged the county to pave the road. They say the dirt and dust causes health problems for many homeowners living on Newberry Lane.

"Several times they've told us they would do it in a year or two," says Morgan. "And one time they told they don't have the money for it."

There is some good news to report for homeowners on Newberry Lane. News 5 contacted the county engineer about the complaints. Cal Market tells News 5 there is money in the budget and says the county will pave the road in about six months.
