PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - A woman charged as an accessory in the
home-invasion shooting deaths of Panhandle couple is in custody
after a judge raised her bond from $10,000 to $500,000.
Circuit Judge Frank Bell ordered Pamela Long Wiggins jailed
following Monday's hearing. The judge granted prosecutors' request
to raise the bond because a grand jury increased charges against
her from a third-degree, evidence-tampering felony to a
first-degree felony earlier this month. She is charged as an
accessory to first degree murder, which could carry a 30-year
sentence.
Six men and a 16-year-old boy have been charged with two counts
of first-degree murder in the July 9 deaths of Byrd and Melanie
Billings. The couple had adopted 13 children, many with special
needs.
