A Mississippi man has been charged with a murder more than 2 years old. Jackson County Sheriff's investigators thought the case was closed until friends and family of Tommy Lee Hester Jr. came forward with new information. The Sheriff's Office says they found out Hester was reportedly bragging about killing 26-year-old Barry Toups. Toups died back in January 2007 at Hester's home in the Orange Grove Community. Hester was originally a suspect in Toups' death. But, an autopsy showed an overdose was to blame. Now, investigators say Hester is responsible for that overdose, "the manner of death is still the same with Toups. The coroner ruled it as an overdose and it definitely is an overdose there was a lot of methamphetamine and cocaine in his system, but the mechanism instead of accidental overdose has changed now to a murder," said Jackson County Sheriff's Office Chief Investigator, Capt. Mick Sears. Sheriff Mike Byrd says they can't release what the motive was in the case yet.
