PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - A judge has postponed two more
arraignments in the double-murder case of a Florida Panhandle
couple known for adopting many children with special needs.

Judge Michael Jones on Friday delayed court proceedings for Frederick Thornton and Gary Sumner, two
of the eight people charged in the home-invasion deaths of Byrd and
Melanie Billings. Court proceedings for four others were delayed
Thursday.

Prosecutors will ask a grand jury next week to indict the group
for first-degree murder, which could allow them to seek the death
penalty.

Investigators are also talking to a ninth man who had business
dealings with Byrd Billings. The man was arrested Thursday on
unrelated theft charges, but investigators have said they are
interested in his connection to the July 9 home invasion.
