A law firm in Washington D.C. confirms that Mobile's top federal agent is their client.
Since 2005, Debra Mack has been the Special Agent in Charge at the Mobile FBI office until her abrupt retirement announcement on Tuesday. Mack's announcement comes on the heels of a reported internal investigation involving her and a high-ranking local leader.
On Thursday, the FBI office in Mobile directed us to a D.C. law firm called Swick and Shapiro for comment.
Mack's attorney's name is Richard Swick. His profile says that "he has successfully handled a broad range of civil litigation including wrongful termination, sexual harassment, discrimination and retaliation as well as civil litigation." Swick's online profile goes on to say that "he has represented numerous Federal employees facing administrative and criminal internal investigations."
When we got Swick on the phone, he confirmed that Mack is a client but offered no comment and took no questions.
Mack's retirement is effective at the end of August. The spokesperson in her office says that Mack has plans to stay in Mobile.
