Daphne Police won't tell us exactly what Danny Moncla asked a male undercover officer to do Thursday night. But they say it was enough to have him arrested.
"He approached our undercover officer and just started a casual conversation which then turned into asking the undercover officer for sexual favors,"Said Lt. Jud Beedy with the Daphne Police Department.
The incident happened during an undercover operation at the scenic overlook near interstate 10.
Police issued a sting after receiving several complaints about sexual activity there.
The 59 year old teaches Social Studies to gifted students under the Pace Program at Grand Bay Middle School. Moncla is facing a misdemeanor of loitering on public property for sexual deviant activity.
Moncla taught Eva Villar's daughter for the past 3 years. She says she doesn't know what to think of him now, "Granted he is a good teacher but I don't think that if they're accused of a sex crime that they should be around children.
Daphne Police say Moncla made bail on a $500.00 dollar bond this morning. He has been a teacher for the Mobile County School System since 1995. School officials have declined to comment on his arrest while the investigation is ongoing.
