Former Sheriff Charlie Morris Pleads Not Guilty

Two days after a pair of Okaloosa County deputies were killed in the line of duty, their former Sheriff pleads not guilty to money laundering and conspiracy charges.

PENSACOLA, Fla. (AP) - A suspended Panhandle sheriff and his
former administrative director have pleaded not guilty to money
laundering and conspiracy charges.
The two were indicted by a federal grand jury on Thursday.
Okaloosa County Sheriff Charlie Morris was arrested by FBI
agents in February while on gambling trip to Las Vegas. On
Saturday, two Okaloosa County deputies were shot and killed by a
man they were trying to arrest.
A June 1 trial date has been set for Morris and Teresa Adams.
