TALLADEGA, Ala. (AP) - The Talladega Superspeedway is going
ahead with plans for a fast-food promotion at this weekend's race
despite complaints by an animal rights group.
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has asked Guinness
World Records to ignore an attempt to set a world record for the
largest group chicken dance at Talladega, site of the Aaron's 499
race on Sunday.
PETA says the sponsor of the event, KFC, mistreats chickens.
But track spokeswoman Kristi King says the world record attempt
has been planned for awhile. And she said track officials plan to
go ahead with the promotion.
KFC called PETA a radical organization that's only interested in
promoting a vegan agenda.
