Sunday's nasty weather didn't stop folks from helping victims of abuse. Mobile's Child Advocacy Center held it's 7th annual Ruth's Chris Jazzy benefit Sunday afternoon. Organizers say more than 100 people came to the steakhouse to raise money for the CAC. They say donations are down this year but they hope today's fundraiser will bring in up to $50,000. Officials say that will help them continue the work of supporting abuse victims.
“All working together under one roof so that children experience child abuse particularly sexual abuse and severe physical abuse they can they can come to one place and get all the help they might need,” says Executive Director Pat Guyton. He says the Child Advocacy Center brings together services like counseling and medicine in one location. The event had to be moved inside because of the rain.
