PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - A burning car found in Mississippi's
Hurley community has been traced to a couple found dead in their
home over the weekend.
Jacksson County Sheriff Mike Byrd said his investigators found
the burning Chevrolet Lumina about 7 a.m. Sunday. Witnesses told
investigators that they saw a man near the vehicle. Byrd said
investigators think the man is a suspect in the slaying of an
elderly couple found Saturday in Jefferson Davis County.
Byrd said the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation is handling
the case.
The Jefferson Davis County Sheriff's Department responded to a
call Saturday morning and found the bodies of 74-year-old Edward
Eugene Redd and his 70-year-old wife, Cherilene Fuller Redd,
Sheriff Henry McCullum said.
