Mobile police hope surveillance video from a violent robbery will help catch a gunman who pointed a weapon directly at a cashier's head.
The robbery happened around 8 p.m. Saturday at the Dollar General Store on Halls Mills Road.
The gunman entered the store wearing dark sunglasses. He stood in line at the cash register pretending to purchase some items, then with at least half a dozen customers nearby, the man rushed behind the counter, pointed a gun at the cashier and demanded money.
The thief, who got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, was last seen running from the store toward another retailer in the same shopping center.
Anyone with information is urged to call the Mobile Police Department.
