WKRG reporter Tiffany Craig and photojournalist Arnell Hamilton have been honored with a regional Edward R. Murrow Award. They won the Region 9 Best News Series award for "Putting It In Park". Arnell and Tiffany spent almost an entire month last July showing viewers and users how to save gas money by finding cheap transportation to and from work. The 20-part series included, among other modes of transporation, stories on public buses, bicycles, motorcycles, roller skates, a segway, and even a horse and buggy.
RTNDA's Region 9 includes all large and small television markets in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. The regional award is automatically entered in the national Murrow awards competition.
