Private Help For Mobile Fire Stations?

Private Help For Mobile Fire Stations?

Council member proposes a public-private partnership.

A Mobile city council member has an idea to repair old fire stations without any cost to the city.
Council Member Connie Hudson said there's interest from private companies in adopting the fire stations.
Hudson said water leaking from the roofs of older stations have caused mold and mildew problems that may be making firefighters sick.
She said she's talked to people and companies interested in sponsoring improvements.
Hudson said, "If you have people in this community, businesses, companies that say, 'Hey, let me partner with you: let me be a part of seeing improvements and making things happen,' we shouldn't be looking a gift horse in the mouth."
Hudson said she hopes Mobile Mayor Sam Jones will support the idea.
