Cade Gilmartin was just one of about a thousand people trying to find work at the Baldwin County Job Fair in Robertsdale Thursday. Unemployed for months and living with friends, Gilmartin knew he had to do something to stand out and get noticed.
"Networking, business cards, getting the chance to actually meet face to face with folks that I may be sending resumes to," says Gilmartin. "
The Silverhill man handed out a dozen resumes, shook countless hands and traded business cards. It wasn't long before Gilmartin made a good impression.
"First thing I noticed was the way he dressed, very professional," says David Upchurch, a representative with Modern Woodmen Financial Services. "I thought he did a really nice job at that, he made a really good first impression. I'd definitely give him an interview to see where it led from there."
Gilmartin says he's excited about the possibility of landing a full-time job with benefits in the near future. We'll keep you posted on his progress.
