Dozens of Dogs Still Need A Home

Dozens of dogs rescued from a house on Sans Souci Road last month still need a good home. At least 50 of the 82 dogs found living in the 2-bedroom house are at the City of Mobile Animal Shelter. Their owners were arrested and charged with animal cruelty. The shelter's assistant director, Jackie Wells, says some of the dogs have already been adopted while others were rescued by non-profit groups. But, Wells says the rest of them also need a good home, " they need that loving home environment. They've been in an environment where they all were just running loose, all together. They need to be, you know, trained, like leash trained, maybe a little training, but, other than that they're all sweet and kind and loving, they're really beautiful pets," said Wells. If you would like to adopt, Wells say the dogs are fixed, checked for heart worms and will be vaccinated. The only cost to you is a 13-dollar adoption fee. If you're interested, you can call the shelter at (251) 208-2800 or just stop by.
