It was a beautiful day for a run. More than 400 people signed up for the Port City Pacers Old mobile 8k. The runners sprinted, jogged and walked through downtown Mobile this morning.
They also held a smaller fun run up and down church street after the big run. Organizers are raising money for Penelope House. Officials say they will hopefully give about four thousand dollars to charity this year.
“And this is a Port City Pacer race it's also a southern regional 8k championship which runs from Arkansas to North Carolina down to Florida,” says race director Richard Leonard.
Organizers say the great weather helped with the turnout. Penelope house supports victims of domestic violence.
