The City of Bayou La Batre is cracking down on saggy pants.

A new goes into effect on Friday that bans big britches. The city council voted last week to get make it illegal to wear pants that expose underwear and too much skin!

If you're caught in low-hanging pants, you could get slapped with a $100 dollar fine and 8 hours of community service. Mayor Stan Wright says droopy drawers aren't a big problem, he just wants to keep it that way. "I think when your crack is showing you know there's just some things not presentable. You know some people's born ugly like me that's something you can't help but a lot of people can help the way they dress."

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) believes restricting clothing is a violation of one's "personal freedom of expression."

The new saggy pants law goes into effect on Friday. If you'd like to read the new ordinance, click here.
