BAY MINETTE, Ala. (AP) - A Baldwin County man whom prosecutors
labeled a serial sex offender will serve 60 years in prison.
54-year-old James Patrick Donoghue of Robertsdale was sentenced
Thursday by Circuit Judge James Reid.
Earlier this year, Donoghue pleaded guilty to 9 charges that
included multiple counts of sodomy and sexual abuse. He read a
statement in court apologizing to his two underaged victims and
said he didn't deserve mercy.
Court records showed the two girls were under the age of 14.
Prosecutors said the illicit conduct occurred over a four year
period.
