Woody Wagons In Summerdale

In the back of American Muscle Car Mania in Summerdale, owner Les Stinson cuts into his favorite side project: woody wagons.

“Everybody likes beautiful wood and there's something classic and right that looks right about them,” says Stinson. Built from the early 20th century to the 1950's, woody wagons are cars with a metal chassis and wooden parts.

“They were the high end of the automotive industry they were the top of the line,” says Stinson. He says they were the SUV of their day. He started finding and restoring woody wagons 30 years ago and is one of the few shops in the country offering such a service. He says this helps as orders for muscle cars have dropped by half in the last year.

“During low economic times there are certain cars that will still hold their value and there's still a demand for them just because of the rarity of them,” says Stinson. For more information, you can click on the link on this page.
