Police have arrested a Washington County woman for conspiring to kill her husband.
Chatom police say 35-year-old Martha Beech planned to inject a drug used to treat arthritis in horses into her husband's IV after he had surgery.
Officers arrested Beech Friday afternoon after receiving a tip about her plans.
Police Chief Michael Garrick tells News 5 Beech had about 20 cc's of Phenylbutazone, or Bute as it is commonly known.
Beech is being held in the Washington County Jail on $30,000 bond.
